In collaboration with other researchers from Arizona State University, Virginia Tech, and industry partners from Boeing and Caterpillar I explore two key areas in hybrid digital-physical systems. The research thrust on haptics, explores novel ways of augmenting objects with sensing and actuation. The thrust on human augmentation explores integration and implementation of intelligent algorithms and devices to assist humans to navigate, interact, and perform tasks in collaboration with robots. Together, these thrusts provide a holistic approach to design, education, and research on human-intelligent environment interaction.
